In 1994, earth year, the first war between Orcs & Humans erupted. Ten years later, it has officially turned into a war between the Alliance and Horde in World of Warcraft. Since then, the relationship between these two factions, and its member races and nations, has become more and more bitter-sweet.
Today, thirteen years later, again, earth year reckoning, the war has been reported by Blizzard Entertainment to have reached its tipping point as the Alliance and Horde prepared for the Battle for Azeroth™!
Battle for Azeroth™ is the 7th expansion for what is Blizzard Entertainment‘s first and only MMORPG, World of Warcraft®. With the Burning Legion defeated… again (Sargerras doesn’t know when to give up), the world was deeply broken yet it is on the road to recovery. However, the bitter-sweet relationship between the Alliance and the Horde may be forever broken.
The Burning Legion, as is always the case, leaves far more devastation in Azeroth than the destruction they unleashed. The furious rivalry between the noble Alliance and the mighty Horde was reignited after a series of disastrous incidents during the two factions attempt to defeat the Burning Legion. Heroes from both are now on a race to find new resources, new allies, and even more powerful items to turn the tides of war in their favor.
In this expansion, there are very interesting new features and areas that will be introduced to the game.
Expore Two Fabled Kingdoms
Horde champions will travel to the Zandalar empire. Champions will try to convince this very ancient tribe to lend their naval might against the Alliance. While the defenders of the Alliance will finally visit the Kingdom of Kul Tiras, the childhood home of Archmage Jaina Proudmoore, to rally its people and use its naval might to fight against the Horde.
Recruit Allied Races
Several new playable “Allied Races”, each with unique racial abilities, will become available for players after unlocking them, possibly through some series of quests. Some that were already revealed are the Highmountain tauren, the Dark Iron dwarves, and Void elves.
Allied Races are basically all the other “races” or “sub-races” in Azeroth that we always encounter in the game and it does not make sense that they are not playable. Some are already in the Alliance or Horde, yet, no player can play any of them. This feature will finally give us a chance to play these races.
Plunder the Islands of the Great Sea
Scour Azeroth’s myriad uncharted Islands and conquer an ever-changing array of enemies, environments, and objectives. Battle in groups of three as you race against cunning rival intruders–or enemy players–to collect each island’s resources and fuel the war effort.
Think of the Islands feature as a random map in multiplayer matches in the WarCraft franchise. Everytime a group of three enters an Island, the scenario is different, and the team has to tackle it to be victorious.
Charge Into the Warfronts
Fight on the battlefields of a large-scale, 20-player cooperative Warfront to claim a key strategic location. Capture resources to build your faction’s forces, lead the charge as your troops lay siege to objectives, and fight the enemy commander to claim victory in this new PvE mode inspired by classic WarCraft RTS battles.
Infuse Your Armor with Titanic might
Seek out Azerite, an invaluable new resource that has emerged in the Legion’s wake. Imbue the Heart of Azeroth–a legendary neck piece entrusted to each hero by Magni Bronzebeard–with Azerite to customize your armor with new powers and traits.
Battle to Level 120
Trace the corruption of the Blood God to the Underrot, unearth the secrets of a lost titan vault, escape from the Drust Realm of the Dead, and more as you quest through 10 new levels–then continue to grow in power through new World Quests, raids, dungeons, and more.
Connect Through Communities
Join up with WoW® players who share common interests in persistent cross-realm Communities. Share strategies with members of your class, fraternize with auction house magnates, talk shop with fellow tailors, and expand your social circles.
When? Sometime next year, 2018. For now, enjoy this cinematic trailer.
