Game developer XLGames and game publisher Trion Worlds are proud to announce that the upcoming 4.0 content and features update to the highly-popular fantasy sandbox MMORPG, ArcheAge, is coming before the holiday season.
Entitled Maelstrom, ArcheAge 4.0 will introduce a host of changes to the game, including a revamped of the Gem system, an open-world raid finder, improvements to the crafting system, and the first PvP naval arena–Bloodsalt Bay. The new content has been scheduled to go live in North America and Europe on December 6, 2017.
New Feature: Open-World Raid Finder
Beginning on the 6th of December, players will be able to use the new Raid Recruitment Board. It is a new feature where players can find a raid group to join or advertise for others to participate. It will also be possible to form a link between two raids for better coordination and to take on some of the greatest challenges in Erenor.
Feature Improvement: Crafting and Gem Systems
In the coming improvement to the crafting system, a new crafting quest line will teach less experienced players several ways to dive into the world of item crafting. A new crafting interface will be introduced which will let players discover a range of items they can create to help in specializing with one skill or several.
In addition to this, the Lunagem system is simplified, and the random chance when improving gear through adding gems has been reduced. Obtaining desired gem types has been streamlined as well, making for a more progress-focused gem experience.
New Naval Arena: Bloodsalt Bay
The much anticipated new feature is the introduction of Bloodsalt Bay, a 20-player battleground where ships with a crew of five can face-off against monsters and terrors of the deep while three other crews fight to claim victory and earn the spoils of battle for themselves. The Bloodsalt Bay battleground will also allow players to face with other players from the other servers as it comes with cross-server functionality.
